SNSD Aims to Take Over Japan This Summer with New Single ‘PAPARAZZI’

Girl group Girls’ Generation is aiming to take over Japan this summer.

The group is to release and begin promoting their fourth single ‘PAPARAZZI’ on June 27.

Fourth single is to release 6 months after the release of first studio album ‘Girls’ Generation’ repackaged edition last December. Girls’ Generation has been promoting separately as featuring first unit group TaeTiSeo while focusing on individual activities.Now the girls will be returning as nine member group through this single.

Fans are showing high expectations for the new single, as it has already topped the Japan Tower Records pre-order chart on June 4.Recently released teaser video broke through 2 million views. The teaser featured the girls in trench coats wearing sunglasses showing an arrogant image. The girls were escorted with bodyguards surrounding them as the paparazzi’s camera flashes.

The upcoming new single of Girls’ Generation is also drawing attention to the record the group has set in Japan. The group has achieved a gold status by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIJA) for their entire singles since their first single ‘Genie’ released in September 2010. The single also debuted at number 5 on the same day of its release on the Daily Oricon Charts. It will be interesting to see whether the new single released will debut as number 1 on the daily Oricon chart.
