Rooftop Prince vs. The Equator Man vs. The King 2hearts: Which Drama Came Out on Top Last Night?

It’s been a tight race for the ratings every Wednesday and Thursday nights. All three dramas – SBS “Rooftop Prince,” starring Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min, KBS “The Equator Man,” starring Uhm Tae Woong and Lee Joon Hyuk, and MBC “The King 2hearts,” starring Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won – have at one point in their five week run placed first to last.

Over the past couple episodes, “The Equator Man” barely held the lead, with a small margin between first and second. However, it finally secured its first place foothold, recording 15.0% (AGB Nielsen) with its eleventh episode. “The King 2hearts” and “Rooftop Prince” recorded 11.3% and 10.6% respectively.

After the broadcast, netizens rushed to their computers to share their impressions on “The Equator Man’s” official website. Some comments included, “I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen from beginning to end,” “Did anyone else hold their breathe during the entire episode?” “Uhm-force [Uhm Tae Woong] was unbelievable. When did he become such a captivating actor,” “OMG,” and more.

A representative of Pan Entertainment, the production company producing “The Equator Man” stated, “The cast and crew barely feel any fatigue thanks to the high popularity of the series. We plan on holding a production dinner next week to thank all the hard-working staff.”
