Mungyeong in North Gyeongsang Province and Boseong County in South Jeolla Province announced a plan Wednesday to hold a spring festival to promote tourism.

Boseong is renowned for its green tea fields. The 38th Boseong Green Tea Festival will be held from May 16 to 20, at the Korea Tea Sound Culture Park in the county.

One can participate in diverse activities such as picking tea leaves, making tea, drinking it, and spending a night in the fields. Snacks made from green tea can also be enjoyed.

The 2012 Mungyeong Traditional Chasabal Festival will take place from April 28 to May 6 at Mungyeong Saejae. Participants can view and make teacups.

The festival offers a wide array of activities, of which the most popular is making pottery.
