FT Island’s “Neverland” makes a hit
The English version of “Neverland,” an opening song of the Japanese animated movie Ozma sung by FT Island, recently made a hit.
FT Island’s Lee Jong Hoon wrote lyrics to “Neverland,” an opening song of Ozma, which first aired on April 16. The English version of the song “Hit The Sand” is currently popular in nearly 50 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, U.K. and U.S.
The animated movie is especially attracting attention as its script was written by Matsumoto Reiji, one of the most renowned animator, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the broadcasting station WOWOW’s foundation. Matsumoto Reiji wrote several SF movie scripts such as Galaxy Express 999, Space Battleship Yamato, and Captain Harlock. Ozma was written by him in the 1980s.
The popularity of FT Island is currently so high in Japan that all the tickets for their exclusive concert, held at Yokohama Arena, were sold out in a minute. They also released a DVD for the concert on March 28 and received an enthusiastic response from their fans.Source: TV Report
