Ever since 1992 a film festival entirely dedicated to Korean movies has been held during the springtime in the historically famous city of Florence, Italy. No wonder then that this year, 2012, is a special one for the Florence Korea Film Fest that is celebrating from the 23rd to the 31st of March its 10th anniversary.
Various activities have been planned to make this edition of the festival all the more interesting. In addition to the daily screenings at local movie theatre Odeon of a vast number of K-movies like Always, War of the arrows, 200 pounds beauty, The man from nowhere and My sassy girl, there will also be open air events. These include a Taekwondo demonstration, a live performance by Jeounju artists A-Kwi and a K-pop flashmob, not to mention a meeting with the Busan International Film Festival director. A Korean Film Party with free entrance has also been planned for the 31st (11.30pm) at the local Hard Rock Cafe to nicely wrap up the Festival.
Among this year’s highly anticipated special guests who will be present in Florence for the occasion are movie directors Song Il-Gon (Always) and Kim Han-Min (War of the Arrows).
