Big fishes JYP almost catch but disappointingly lose: from CL to IU

2AM’s Jo Kwon revealed the list of big-name stars who JYP almost caught but disappointingly got away.

On the March 7 episode of MBC’s variety show Golden Fish Bank-Radio Star, Jo Kwon pointed out 2NE1’s “I Am the Best” as one of his most favorite songs, and released his hidden tie to 2NE1’s CL.

Before making her debut as a member of 2NE1 on the YG Entertainment, CL belonged to JYP Entertainment as a singer trainee, going through the same training courses along with Jo Kwon.

The emcees of the show showed much interest in the entangled stories between major entertainment agencies.

According to Jo Kwon, there are a good many stars who once belonged to JYP but ended up debuting on a different agency: IU, B2ST’s Du Jun, Kara’s Goo Hara and Sistar’s Hyo Lyn.

When asked if Park Jin Young, president of the YJP Entertainment, bitterly regretted having missed them, 2AM’s Chang Min responded: “He is actually regretful for what he did. He once jokingly but bitterly declared to single out the person who released IU from YJP.”

The March 7 episode of Radio Star feature 2AM’s members.
