1n2d Season 2 Ep 1 Engsub.html
The second season of KBS 2TVs Happy Sunday1N2D is scheduled to hit the small screens this March, and the line-up seems close to being finalized.
According to an insider, the new season will be similar to the first, in which the cast members will still embark on road trips. Like the format, the cast lineup wont be seeing too many changes.
A KBS insider informed Star News on January 27th that Original members Lee Soo Geun, Uhm Tae Woong, and Kim Jong Min have plans to stay on, while MC Kim Seung Woo, singer Sung Si Kyung, and actor Joo Won will be joining the lineup. Whether or not any additional recruits will be added is still being considered.
By keeping some of the old members and adding new ones, the staff of 1N2D are trying to kill two birds with one stone. They want the stability of the old show, while offering a fresh spin with the new season. But this could be a gamble, as viewers have been loyal to 1N2D for five years, and they may not like any changes to the program.
Theres a valuable lesson to be learned from SBSs Family Outing, which came to an end in 2010 after boasting some of the highest TV ratings. The second season featured some of todays hottest stars, such as 2AMs Jo Kwon, Girls Generation member YoonA, 2PMs Taecyeon, and Super Juniors Kim Heechul; however, it just didnt seem to catch on with the general public.
This failing is mostly due to the combination of a familiar concept with new faces. Variety programs are all about the different personalities on the show, and so even when the program and the activities on the show are the same, viewers enjoy watching the cast sharpen their wit on national television.
Once those cast members get switched out, however, theres a danger of fans leaving with them because they arent able to connect with the new members.
1N2Ds decision to retain Lee Soo Geun, Uhm Tae Woong, and Kim Jong Min gives the program some stability to start. The insider remarked, 1N2D was a popular program, but the second season will not be the same. We are preparing to show you a much more advanced and developed 1N2D than the previous program.
The new cast members are also heightening the expectations of the viewers. Kim Seung Woo is currently serving as an MC on Win Win, and hes developed a strong following with his sharp wit. Sung Si Kyung has also showcased his variety show skills on previous episodes of 1N2D, and is expected to make a very natural transition on the program.
Actor Joo Won who has taken up roles in Baker King Kim Tak Goo and Ojakgyo Brothers will also be showcasing his easygoing personality on the show.

There have been many speculations as to what the future holds for KBS hit variety show "1 Night 2 Days."
First, after Kang Ho Dong left because of the tax evasions issue, many said the show wouldn't survive without its master. Then, after a few months, the show still managed to do well with a strong cast and the same
"like a family" image back when Kang Ho Dong was recording.
Then, fans heard another story. It was announced that the show would know a second season which was to be made without the original cast. Shortly after, we heard words of Uhm Tae Woong saying that he "would stay if Soo Geun would too." A day later, we reported that the show would continue without a season 2, but as it is.
Yet, another news added to the confusion when actor Joo Won was contacted by KBS to join 1N2D.
So, what is to happen to the show we used to love?
It seems that apart from Lee Seung Gi, the original cast of 1N2D as well as the format of the show will remain the same. According to various sources, KBS is currently considering the addition of a new face and are looking for a replacement to fill Lee Seung Gi's spot on the show.
There are many factors worth considering, such as the show's format, to keep the same name or to go for a new one, and most importantly the cast members. Apart from Lee Seung Gi who will be busy with making a debut in Japan, it has been reported that the rest of the team members Uhm Tae Woong, Eun Ji won, Lee Soo Geun and Kim Jong Min will still be part of the program.
It is known that KBS has been approaching at least three celebrities, Kim Hyun Joong, Sung Si Kyung and more recently actor Joo Won.
However, there is something that isn't quite definite. There is one member of the 1N2D team who didn't give an answer as to whether he planned to renew his contract or not. And this is the unknown factor which might make the next step difficult.
The members of 1N2D stated that they wouldn't come back for a second season if a certain member "A" wouldn't stay. An acquaintance of said member "A" said : "The chances of him renewing for a second season are of 50/50 right now. He will meet with the production team soon and make his final decision."
At the moment, KBS has been been very careful with revealing details of the negotiations and are afraid of the news of Lee Seung Gi leaving being misreported by the medias who would sensationalize it.
While nothing is definite for now, some things have began to take shape. Let's wait and see.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Let us know!
The time has come to say good bye to the members of “1N2D” Season 2 as the show wrapped up its last episode. The closing statements were filled with tears, hugs, thankfulness, and a trip down memory lane.
On November 24, KBS’ variety program “1N2D” officially wrapped up season two with a final goodbye from the members. Similar to the show’s signature opening in which the members gather together to introduce the episode, it was fitting to see the members gather one last time to bid farewell to its audience.
The closing statements revealed how the cast and crew of “1N2D” had formed a bond similar to that of a family. Oldest member Yoo Hae Jin expressed, “It has been eight months (since I joined) and the experiences have been wonderful. I now have great younger friends. Im thankful to the younger friends for their help, and all the staff have worked very hard.”
When listening to Yoo Hae Jin’s comment, Uhm Tae Woong couldn’t help but explode in tears even before his turn. The actor stated, “I want to thank everyone because I feel that I have received an overflow of love, and I will never forget. Everyone, please quickly forget about me and anticipate the new ‘1N2D.’”
Cha Tae Hyun, who plans to return for season three, said, “Choi Jae Hyung PD comes to mind, as well as Seung Woo hyung (Lee Seung Woo). Please anticipate season three.” Singer Sung Shi Kyung also added his sentiments when he said, “I started the show after being touched when I experienced the ‘viewer tour.’ The program is a show that you oddly grow affectionate towards. Season three will start, but I think ‘1N2D’ is the best program as a KBS weekend variety show.”
Having been with the show since its first broadcast in August 2007, Kim Jong Min, who also plans to return for season three, couldn’t help the tears as he stated, “I first came here in my mid 20’s. Thinking about it, I think I really love ‘1N2D.’ However, there is something I love more than ‘1N2D,’ and that’s Soo Geun hyung. “
In response, Lee Soo Geun, another original member since the show’s first broadcast, gave a 90 degree bow and expressed in his tearful farewell, “Although my body may not be present, my heart will always be here shouting and being together with you.”
“1N2D” first aired six years ago on August 5, 2007 with members Kang Ho Dong, Noh Hong Chul, Eun Ji Won, Lee Soo Geun, and Kim Jong Min. However, the show reached its highest popularity with members Kang Ho Dong, Eun Ji Won, Lee Soo Geun, MC Mong, Lee Seung Gi, Kim C, and Kim Jong Min. Season two of 1N2D first aired on March 4, 2012 with members Lee Soo Geun, Kim Jong Min, Uhm Tae Woong, Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Seung Woo, Sung Shi Kyung, and Joo Won. Along with the changing members of the show, 1N2D will also experience a change in production team as season three is expected to be produced under a different producer and staff team.
Season three of “1N2D” will consist of returning members Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Jong Min, as well as new members Kim Joon Ho, Kim Joo Hyuk, Jung Joon Young, and Defcon. The new teaser for season three shows a unique approach to the show as the new members express their honesty in their lack of confidence to be funny. The different approach of season three has stirred anticipation as many have become curious of the chemistry between the members who form such an unlikely group. “1N2D” season three will air its first episode on December 1 at 4:55pm (KST).
Check out the teaser with season three’s new members below!
Singer John Park will not be part of the new cast for KBS2TV’s “1N2D season 3.”
A representative of the show stated that although John Park was one of the candidates to be selected as a new cast member, he was not considered in the final selection process. The singer’s representatives also commented, “It is true that John Park was given an offer to be part of the show, but he was not selected in the final cast selection.”
The variety show will select its final cast and will start filming season three on November 22. Currently, the verified cast members for the new season are Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Jong Min, original members of season two. As of now, the candidates for the new member positions are Kim Joo Hyuk, Jung Joon Young, and SHINee’s Minho.
In regards to the new season, KBS’ producer Park Joong Min said, “Many people seem to be curious about season three’s new members. It is not finalized whether or not there will be four or five new members. We will let everyone know through an official statement. We have an outline of the concepts and subjects. We have not chosen an opening location as of now.”
Furthermore, the agencies of the new member candidates expressed, “Nothing has been verified yet,” carefully expressing the uncertain results.
Recently, KBS changed the entire production team of “1N2D.” With season two, featuring Yoo Hae Jin, Uhm Tae Woong, Lee Soo Geun, Cha Tae Hyun, Sung Shi Kyung, and Kim Jong Min, ending on November 24, the first episode of “1N2D Season 3” will broadcast on December 1.
Unlike previous reports, KBS “1 Night 2 Days” may just keep the current format and move on without starting a second season.
According to TV Report, an official from KBS said, “There hasn’t been anything confirmed at this point, but there are talks to just continue the current show without starting a season two…But it might launch a second season or just come up with a new name, so we’re discussing a lot of different options.”
If KBS decides to go with the same “1N2D” brand, the staff will face only minimal changes in the scriptwriter, directors, and some main cast members. The current producer of the show, Na Young Suk, will be replaced by Choi Jae Hyung, producer of “Unbeatable Baseball Team,” after the February 26 episode.
Despite rumors of a member change, including the casting of Kim Hyun Joong and Joo Won, this brings light to the possibility of perhaps keeping the current cast and format. Could this be a sign of Kang Ho Dong making a surprise return to the show?
Actor and singer Cha Tae Hyun and singer and entertainer Kim Jong Min will remain as part of the “1 Night, 2 Days” (1N2D) cast.
KBS’ variety department announced on November 11 that it will be pushing ahead with Season 3 of “1N2D.”
“1N2D has been a part of Happy Sunday for a long time, and with the changes in production team and cast, we are actively preparing for Season 3. Current members Yoo Hae Jin, Uhm Tae Woong and Sung Shi Kyung have communicated their wishes to step down from the show to actively pursue their acting and music careers, while Lee Soo Geun will be taking some time away from the entertainment industry. We are currently looking for new members to take their places and preparing for the next season of ‘1N2D.’”
The department added, “The final journey with all six members took place on November 8 in Gangwon-do’s Goseong, and the final broadcast for Season 2 will air on November 24.”
They emphasized that apart from the remaining two members, Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Jong Min, new members for Season 3 have not been finalized.
“CP Seo Soo Min and PD Yoo Hae Jin are determined to revive and reinstate 1N2D as the pride of KBS variety.” We know there will be big changes in the cast, and it looks like we can expect huge changes in format as well.
Unfortunately there will be a slight change to the format for random musings this week. My body has decided that now would be a good time to welcome all the flu related viruses in the world for a party. Bird flu, influenza, swine flu, you name it and my body is probably cultivating a nice batch of them inside of me right now. In short I’m sick with the common flu and staring at a white word document to type out a standard random musing article will probably cause my eyes to burst out of its socket in annoyance. So this week I’ll do a quick review of the new season of 1N2D and list out a few articles of interest over the week.
New Season of 1N2D, re-adjusting our expectations.
The first episode of the new season of 1N2D aired yesterday night (At the time of writing) and I’ve now watched it a few times, which hopefully will be enough to give a reasonable first impression of the new season. Quick recap of the episode before we begin this first impression. The 3 original members (Kim Jong Min, Lee Soo Geun, Uhm Tae Woong) meet at Incheon Port, where they are told that they will be going around to various islands to pick up the new members. Meanwhile the new members are each picked up by the staff at their respective locations and are then taken to the port, where they each board a small boat and are supposed to head off to their respective island. However due to clearance issues, only Joo Won ends up going to his island while the other new member (Sung Si Kyung, Kim Seung Woo, Cha Tae Hyun) end up going on the same boat as the 3 original members. They then talk with each other, meet up with Joo Won, play a few games and go on a walk. To be honest it’s pretty standard 1N2D affairs.
First of all, let’s get this out of the way, if you were perhaps hoping that the format will change drastically because of the new cast and production staff then you will be bitterly disappointed. They are following closely with the old mantra of “If it’s not broken then don’t fix it.” The program is still easily recognizable as 1N2D at quick glances and even if you watch it for a few minutes. However that doesn’t mean everything is the same. The new staff does seem to have a different musical taste to the old staff, not saying it’s worse or better, it’s just different. Na Yong Suk PD’s team had a distinct musical taste while Choi Jae Hyung PD’s team tried to follow the style closely but it was clearly different and noticeable. Shall I say it seemed a bit more child-like and innocent? It definitely didn’t seem to have some of the grandiose musical tones that Na Yong Suk PD seemed to pick often.
The program also flows differently. If you liked 1N2D for its fast paced antics and story then the new episode is going to disappoint you as well. This episode at least was much slower paced than the vast majority of prior 1N2D episodes. There was a lack of urgency that prior 1N2D had and everything just appeared much more laid back. It could also be that there was no competition during this first episode. The format of the prior 1N2D episodes were pretty much Competition to see who got to a location first - Some brief respite - Competition for Lunch - brief respite etc. The new episode was pretty much filled with just talking with each other and playing a few short games to fill in the time. A lot of this obviously has to do with the fact that it’s the first episode but it just feels like the new format will continue to be slower paced than the old season, which isn’t a bad thing perse since it might suit the cast a bit better. The old season was fast paced because it suited Kang Ho Dong’s style and they just retained it even after he left. The new cast will need to find its own pace and I just don’t believe it will be as fast paced as the old season was. The more they try to imitate the older episodes the more awkward it's going to get. The biggest job for the staff members will be transistioning as quickly and naturally as possible to a format to which they are comfortable working with. That could be completely different to the original concepts but if it suits the new cast members and staff better then so be it.
Finally let’s talk about the cast briefly. All the new members seem enthusiastic and they seem to gel together reasonably well. The stand out of the group was definitely Cha Tae Hyun thou. He does seem to be a bit lazy at times but that’s always been his character but when he is talking, it’s usually funny and adds substance to the scene. My only worry with him is that he seems like the type that will burn out quickly and I’m just worried that he might run out of energy or ideas sooner rather than later. He hasn’t been a permanent member in variety show before, and while he has shown to be great in the occasional appearances, he needs to be able to maintain his motivation for the long run. The other new members all seemed fairly enthusiastic as well, especially Kim Seung Woo, who seemed to be trying very hard to acclimatize to the show. Some might say he might be trying a bit too hard but you can hardly fault someone being passionate about something. Joo Won and Sung Si Kyung seemed fairly comfortable with the environment and played their own part in the group along with the original members.
My only negative about the new cast is that there doesn’t seem to be a center figure in the team. We had an article that said that Joo Won might be the new host but that was clearly just a little playful post. There needs to be someone like Kang Ho Dong that can regulate the show from the center and pace the show as required. Lee Soo Geun seems the most likely candidate for this but I’m not convinced by that. In the previous few months when Kang Ho Dong was absent from the show, it was usually Lee Seung Gi who will be the one MCing the show and Lee Soo Geun providing support. Lee Soo Geun previously seemed to work better as a supporting MC but now he is going to have to step it up and take the center position with authority. If not the show is going to lack direction and it’s going to feel haphazard. We’ll see how it goes but it was a pretty good start despite what’ve said so far, I can recommend that people should watch the new season, just make sure you re-adjust your expectations to match.
Articles of Note Through The Week.
Just quickly going through some articles of note through the week, first we had the black face issue with “World Changing Quiz” in both our news section and some discussions on our forums. There has also been a post on the Gawker site Jezebel about Black Faces in K-pop with a follow up discussion in our forums. In last week’s random musing, i mentioned the idol popularity ranking article in the midst of my Girls’ Day fanboying, which was followed up this week by a chart that ranked girl groups by heights and it looks like there is an updated one of those in this reddit post on the kpop sub-reddit, which was slightly disappointing as a fanboy since they took out Girls’ Day, which was in the original height article. We had our exclusive behind the scenes look at the new SBS MTV “Music Island” show along with exclusive BTS photos of the show. Continuing on with this music show topic, CN Blue appeared on Japan’s MTV Unplugged and were the first Korean artist to do so. EXO released yet another preview (It won’t be long before there is so many previews that I can scream out “It’s over 9000”) and finally I will end with some Girls’ Day fanboying with an article that state that Girls’ Day member Hyeri has been cast for the upcoming SBS drama “Father and Daughters.”
If there is perhaps any articles above you want me to discuss in depth next week when I’m not drugged up with every flu medicine imaginable, just leave a comment about it below. Hopefully we’ll resume normal duties next week, sorry about the poor quality this week.
Viewers are looking forward to the opening second season of "One NightTwo Days." In the past, viewers would be most interested in Kang Ho Dong and Lee Soo Geun. However, there is a lot of interest now in regards to who will take the main hosting role in the new season of "1N2D."
On March 3, KBS 2TV aired a teaser trailer for "Happy Sunday One Night Two Days" season two. With the introduction of new members Kim Seung Woo, Cha Tae Hyun, Sung Si Kyung, and Joo Won for season two, many debates have started online speculating as to who will be taking the center role for leading the show.
The teaser trailer shows the members' first gathering together and hints at their individual personalities as they play ice-breaker games.
The cast is also starting to use a new hand gesture to open up the TV program with their slogan of "One night, two days!" Overall, the members were still a little awkward with each other for their first meeting, but filming continued with a lively and positive atmoshere.
Fans took notice of how the youngest member of the cast, Joo Won, stood in the middle of the line during the shouting of the slogan. Comments reveal opinions of surprise at Joo Won possibly taking the main role of the show. Despite fan speculations, the true host of season two remains a mystery until the actual broadcast. The teaser trailer shows different members mixing it up and standing in the center.
The first episode of the new "1N2D" season two will air on March 4.
The new season of “1 Night 2 Days” is all but set to roll with its first episode scheduled to air on KBS over the coming weekend. “1N2D” fans and variety watchers alike have already been abuzz with anticipation, but the new cast has nevertheless gotten together in a press conference to introduce the show to the public.
All seven cast members of the “1N2D” Season 2 were present at the event in Seoul, including the cast members from Season 1, Kim Jong Min, Lee Soo Geun and Uhm Tae Woong. The occasion doubled with the formal presentation of the four new cast members, Kim Seung Woo, Cha Tae Hyun, Joo Won and Sung Si Kyung. It was the first time all Season 2 cast members were together apart from their first filming, which was reportedly completed on February 24.
“We saw that there was a lot of interest and expectations facing us, so that was a point of worry and concern. We know that, but despite that, I have decided to appear in this show,” Kim Seung Woo said as the opening for the new cast members. “I enjoyed the first shoot beyond what I initially thought. Also, it was going to be harder work than I thought. But I have happily met with these good folks and I think we could give you a good show.”
Cha Tae Hyun echoed the sentiment of the fun first shoot. “Personally, there are a lot of expectations,” he said. “We seem to have the a lot of attention pointing towards us. The first week will seem to be more a self-introduction, so I think the succeeding broadcasts will be more fun.”
Sung Si Kyung added, “I was there for fun, and I wasn’t scared of anything.”
Season 1 veteran Uhm Tae Woong remarked on the camaraderie between the two seasons’ cast members. He said, “It went well. Right at the beginning, the new members were worried, but after 20 to 30 minutes, everyone became tight. We thought it would be awkward, but we had fun. I think it would really be fun since we are expected to go on a trip.”
Kim Jong Min, meanwhile, became sentimental about the first broadcast. “The first shooting is really a memory. Back in 2007, when we first shot for ‘1N2D,’ I find that still memorable. The first broadcast is also really memorable.”
Lee Soo Geun commented, “The new members pulled their weight. Most thought since they were actors, they were going to be delightful to shoot. Kim Seung Woo did not sleep for three days and then slept through the first shoot. Our viewers are going to enjoy watching this.”
The new season of “1N2D” will have Choi Jae Hyung as the PD in charge. The first filming was completed in Incheon and the first episode is set to air on March 4.
Actor Um TaeWoong revealed the filming scene of '1N2D Season 2'.
On the 25th, TaeWoong posted on his twitter, "Lee SooGeun Teacher found a shoe" along with a picture.
In the picture is Lee SooGeun in the forest with a white t-shirt, holding up a shoe with a face expression as if he just found treasure.
Netizens who saw the picture said, "I'm already excited for '1N2D'", "Lee SooGeun's comedy continues", etc.
The first episode of 1N2D Season 2 will be aired on March 4th with the original members of Lee SooGeun, Um TaeWoong, and Kim Jongmin, along with 4 new members.
